«Think Like a Costume Designer» with Dordi Strøm & Next Generation Queer Xpression looks at the costumes of famous and unknown, queer and straight, good and bad superheroes in popular culture.
Attendees learned about the costume designer’s work process, everyone they collaborate with in the theater and about the costume sketch as a tool and communication. You will get tips and methods from the world of theater costume designers to develop your own characters and we will draw costume sketches for your own superheroes, kings and queens.

De fremmøtte fikk vite om kostymedesignerens arbeidsprosess, alle de samarbeider med i teateret og om kostymeskissen som verktøy og kommunikasjon. Du vil få tips og metoder fra teaterkostymedesignernes verden for å utvikle dine egne karakterer og vi vil tegne kostymeskisser for dine egne superhelter, konger og dronninger.
Dordi Strøm is a costume designer, set designer and author and has designed for the Norwegian Theatre, the National Theatre, Teater Vestland, Riksteatret, Rogaland Teater and a long list of performing arts companies since 1996. On tour with DKS she has drawn costume sketches for scary trolls, bad-guys and girls, together with almost 5000 children and young people. She has received a number of grants and is the winner of the Lyttaranes Novel Prize with the novel Odel (2023). www.dordi.no
Dordi Strøm er kostymedesignar, scenograf og forfattar og har designa for Det Norske Teateret, Nationaltheatret, Teater Vestland, Riksteatret, Rogaland Teater og ei lang rekke scenekunstkompani sida 1996. På turné med DKS har ho teikna kostymeskisser til skumle troll, bad-guys og – girls, i lag med snart 5000 barn og unge.
