Tuva Elisabet Bjerkestrand Eid (they/them, b. 1997) is a multidisciplinary artist, musician and anthropologist. This is their first art exhibition. The exhibition is centered around how much queer collective means to them as an artist, and features paintings, ceramics and embroidery — all centred around queerness, collectiveness, and joy.
Both in painting and ceramics, they see sexuality and intimacy as something playful and beautiful. Tuva’s art is a sapphic antithesis to the cis-male gaze, and bursts with colours, energies, florals and portrayals of women and femme bodies. This exhibition is an ode to the artist’s chosen family and the importance of collective.
